Why work with a startup?

There comes a juncture in one’s career when you start thinking “what next?” Your portfolio is full of enriching work experience, but you still feel maybe you could do something different, be in the rut but still pave your own path.

Working with a startup came as an answer to me. What drew me to it? Simple; the company’s vision. For once, peripheral factors like the location, or city or distance, travel, nothing mattered.

Taking that plunge will require the grit, no doubt but the journey will be nothing less than fabulous. Responsibility and opportunity will be 2 sides of the same coin and the learning, incredible. Your journey with any startup will bring out values that are ingrained in you at the beginning of our careers. Ownership, hard work and self-sustainability come naturally.

Learning never stops and while with a startup, this learning only multiplies. Varied scenarios and situations are like icing on the cake. And you can be rest assured that when you’re working with a startup, you’re working with like-minded people, who are willing to take the risk, ready to build something for the company, of course, and for themselves too.

So, if you’re contemplating, don’t. Take charge and be the solution, because when you look back, you’ll be able to see what you’ve created, while recognition and appreciation will just be brownie points you would have earned.
